Hero + Villain Dynamic

Many of the heroes shown in the films we've watched haven't started out as heroes. There are multiple factors that went into the characters becoming these fabled heroes, and none of it would be possible without the villains. Maximus was a war hero that few common Roman people knew about. He didn't become a hero in their eyes until he stepped into the Colosseum as a gladiator. This wouldn't have been possible without Commodus destroying his life and creating the butterfly effect that ended in Maximus becoming a hero to all.

Every hero in the films we've watched has only transcended to their level of heroism due to the involvement of a villain or antagonist. Therefore every hero needs their villain.
